Where To Go Fishing?
It's never a question of "whether" to go fishing. The question is "Where to go fishing?" Some of the best fishing trips enjoyed by the crew at Fishresource.com have been at lodges and resorts across North America and we have done our best to organize them by state and province.
Browse resorts, guides, lodges and outfitters from the many beautiful provinces and territories of Canada.
We strongly encourage you to explore and experience the diverse range of fishing spots across Canada that we have, from the mountain rivers and streams of British Columbia to the lakes and rivers throughout Ontario.

Whatever kind of fishing you are looking for, you will find it in the United States.
All of the resorts, guides and charters listed here are quality vacation spots. The hosts are knowledgeable and friendly. These folks will get you started and pointed in the right direction as well as warn you of water you should steer clear from! Nothing is worse than whacking a prop on the first day out...

Even if you are a beginner, we encourage you to invest in a fishing vacation with a good lodge or guide. Top of the line equipment, tackle, etc., won't help you catch fish if you are in a poor spot. The wisdom and experience that an experienced guide or lodge can impart on you is very valuable. The ability to successfully map out waters is a gift that few beginners possess - let the lodge or guide point you in the right direction, since they have invested the time and experience, and you will have a much more enjoyable experience.
North America has too many incredible fishing spots to list. Fishing vacations are some of the most popular vacations and we have done some of the searching and legwork for you. Follow the flags above to explore many of the great locations each country has to offer and experience.

Some say laughter is the best medicine. Being able to take a break and drop a line in the water in a remote region of Canada is often just what the doctor ordered for the crew at Fishresource.com.
Fishing in Canada is unparalleled on the continent. Not only will you experience big fish, but you'll find they are aggressive too. Deep lakes, fast moving waters, amazing rock structures and above all friendly people, provide the perfect combination for an enjoyable angling vacation.

From a freshwater fishing standpoint, there are few countries that can match the vast diversity of freshwater fishing that the United States has to offer.
No matter which state you are in, you can fish in the United States, from it's lakes surrounded by evergreens in the north, to the flooded everglades in the lands to the south. The bass, because it is so largely adaptable, is found all across the United States and this is one reason it is one of the most popular game fish in America.

A Word About Outfitters
An "outfitter" by definition is somebody who sells or rents equipment, supplies, etc., and often offers guide services for anglers and other recreational activities. Many outfitters also offer accommodation in addition to these other services. The services may vary from location to location, however, most will likely rent boats and equipment, etc., that is generally not travelled with.
Some may also offer licensing at their facility, guide services, and often operate out of a bait and tackle shop. You can find yourself in a broad range of accommodations, from luxury to a bare cabin. Prices will vary accordingly with the level of service, and some will offer different levels of housekeeping services, from light housekeeping, where visitors bring their own food, bedding, etc., and others will offer all inclusive packages.
It's always good to ask if they are licensed, since many provinces and states have associations, or at least ask for references. Always do your homework - you want to have the best time you can!
A Word About Catch and Release
Each year, more and anglers around the world practice catch and release fishing. The crew at Fishresource.com all practice catch and release, and have been doing so for years. By releasing the more mature fish we gain the satisfaction of knowing that we are helping the future generations of both fish and anglers, as well as aiding conservation efforts. We use barbless hooks, which is easier on us and the fish. To learn more about catch and release, please visit our section called Catch and Release. One small piece of advice: when you practice catch and release your camera becomes an essential piece of kit in your tackle box.
